Deidre and Nick

Untitled photo
Deidre and Eric got married at Thunder Canyon Golf Course, a little more than halfway between Reno and Carson City. It’s a gorgeous venue. They used the large locker rooms-slash-restrooms for the bride and groom to get ready in and they are very nice and the light is good enough that we didn’t need to use flash, which we think makes for better pictures.

Deidre had her hair and makeup done at home and her bridesmaids did as well. From there she drove to the venue, but we left about a half hour before she did as we wanted to get some shots of Erick and his groomsmen before she got there, because we wanted to spend as much time with her as possible after she arrived.

And after she got there, we took about a zillion and a half photos of her and her girls as she got into her dress and after that about another half zillion more, right up until it was time for the ceremony.

It had been bright and sunny outside till about five minutes before she was to walk down the aisle. And then, lucky for her and her photographers too, clouds covered the sun, acting like a giant softbox in the sky, helping to make the ceremony photos beautiful.

However, toward the end of the ceremony, right after the officiant said, “Now you may kiss your bride,” a guy stepped in front of Vesta with a giant tablet, blocking her photograph. For a second, I thought she was going to kick him, but instead, acting like the professional she is, she just shook her head, then stepped aside and took another picture.

But, when we were processing the photos, I saw the one of the guy and his tablet and I knew I could turn it into a pretty nice photograph.I did that by photoshopping her second photo into the tablet, which you can check out below.

After the ceremony, the Thunder Canyon people gave us a golf cart to drive around the course and the gorgeous countryside beyond, so we could take some wedding photos in different locales. After we did that, we came back and did the formal photos and then it was on to the reception and party, which lasted well into the night, ending with a fireworks send off for the bride and groom.
